Lucyna Aleksandrowicz-Pędich dyrektor Instytutu Anglistyki SWPS 1) Could the bad mark motivate students to learn better?
"Bad marks can sometimes motivate some students, but should be used with caution. The general rule in motivation is that positive grades and encouragement work better, but the teacher sometimes needs bad grades to give all the students the sense of justice and to make the ones who do not work sufficiently realize that they are not making progress."
2) Could you give some advises for novice teacher?
"The main problem novice teachers tend to face is discipline. Make sure you have a lot of activities prepared so that your students are not bored, since boredom is the main factor causing disruptions. Also make sure you are not teaching above their level since failure to understand is another reason for anxiety which, in turn, leads to disruptions. If possible, make video or audio recording of your lessons - this will give you an opportunity for self-analysis."
I hope this has helped you.
