1. II Kings 17 Hosea 1:1-2:1 The Living Parable The word of the Lord that came to Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. (V1) Do We Acknowledge when the Word of The LORD comes? Leviticus 21:7: They shall not take a wife who is a harlot or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God. Heb 13:4: Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Or are we buffet Christians? When it Comes what do we do about it? Mat 7:24-29: “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. We might not be idol worshipers like Israel but we sure aren't exempt from "idle"worship! Then the Lord said to him:
“Call his name Jezreel, For in a little while
I will avenge the bloodshed of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, And bring an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5 It shall come to pass in that day That I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.” And she conceived again and bore a daughter. Then God said to him:
“Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel,
But I will utterly take them away. 7 Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, Will save them by the Lord their God, And will not save them by bow, Nor by sword or battle, By horses or horsemen.” Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and bore a son. 9 Then God said: “Call his name Lo-Ammi, For you are not My people, And I will not be your God. 10 “Yet the number of the children of Israel
Shall be as the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass
In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ There it shall be said to them, ‘You are sons of the living God.’ Psalm 92:13-14:
13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing, Jer 30:3: For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’” (cf. Hos 3:5, Jer 18-19, Isa 11:12-13, & Rom 11) Hosea 6:4-8:14 Power Truth #1 Unfaithfulness
6:4-7:7 False Hopes
8:1-14 Power Truth #2 Power Truth #4 Impotence by Association
7:8-16 Application Questions Israel's Similitude s Eph 2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Faithfulness to God is evident and progressive, being idle is not an option! God is more interested in the essence behind our worship instead of the form of our worship! Heb 12:1-2: Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, John 17:3: And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. Matt 7:21-23: Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ POWER TRUTH # 3 When Christians unite with the ungodly they are rendered POWERLESS! Mat 5:13: "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Judg 16:19-21: Delilah lulled Samson to sleep with his head in her lap... she called in a man to shave off the seven locks of his hair. ..and his strength left him. ..When he woke up, he thought, "I will do as before and shake myself free." But he didn't realize the LORD had left him. So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes. ..he was bound with bronze chains and forced to grind grain in the prison. Jam 4:4, 8: You adulterers! Don't you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. (8) Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God When we invest into the Kingdom of God we will reap the blessings of God! Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Am I being idle or faithful towards God?
Is my worship vain or genuine?
Am being salt and light among the world?
Is there evidence in my life that I've been investing into God's kingdom? Plow, Sow & Reap

Hosea 9-10 Lesson Point #1 Lesson Points Give God all the credit be thankful for what you have or else He will rid you of your prosperity till you are thankful! Lesson Point #2 An unyielding spirit will cause us to be enslaved by sin (Egypt) and an early death (Memphis)! Lesson Point #3 Continual practice of sin disqualifies us from serving in the "House of The Lord"! Lesson Point #4 It's not wrong to make plans for ourselves as long as we have God's will in mind!
I. God's Stubborn Love
(Hosea 11:1-11) III. God's Relentless
(13:1-16) II. Israel's Willful Ignorance
(11:12-12:14) IV. God's Faithful Restoration
(14:1-9) Love Wins Judah yet ruleth with God - There is an allusion here to Genesis 32:24, where Jacob having "wrestled with the Angel," had his name changed to Israel, one that rules with God. That glory the Israelites had lost by their idolatry; but Judah still retained the true worship, and alone deserved the name of Israel. God: 11:1-12:1

Psa 27:14, Lam 3:25-26) "Observance" of good works & "Waiting" upon God are the 2 changes which take place after turning back to God! (cf. 12:6) (cf. 11:5-7) Our God is a Jealous God, He requires our worship to be solely centered around Him and His redemptive work on the Cross! (cf. 13:4) A healthy dose of hearing and doing will
bring about fruit in our
lives! (cf. 14:8) Recap!
