The Man Behind The Books He wrote this novel after he and his wife moved into a barn near Louisville, Tennessee. McCarthy renovated the barn himself entirely It was puplished in 1973, inspired by true events that took place in Sevier County Cormac McCarthy Childhood He was born July 20, 1933 Gladdys McCarthy Charles Joseph McCarthy Chatholic High School Schooling University of Tennessee Air Force two years Phoenix Magazine Won the Ingram-Merrill award He dropped out. The Orchard Keeper For Creativity Mccarthy spent twenty or so years of his life writing his fourth novel Mccarthy writes about many different things including this story about a man returning a young she-wolf back to it's home in the northern Mexican mountains. Mccarthy's Parents He majored in Liberal arts! Suttree is about a man living alone in a houseboat
under a bridge away from a society full of eccentrics
and criminals. He gets by with his wry humour and simple
