It's possible that the person would not be able to absorb essential nutrients and may be hospitalized or even die Could someone live without the digestive system? You cant live without a digestive system How is digestive system important? Eating disorders can lead to severe medical complications, depression, isolation and substance abuse. If left untreated, eating disorders can even be fatal. BULIMIA An emotional disorder in which bouts of extreme overeating are followed by depression and vomiting or fasting The disorder is most common in adolescent girls and young women.
