Message
The message of the song is that there is more than what meets the eye. You never know what a person has been through. There is a person who has self esteem issues and possibly has a certain secret or past that he/she is obviously not proud of. The lyrics speak of a person who is warning a significant other of his flaws. Warning someone who wants to be involved with him and has an obvious interest in him. We witness this especially when the song says "Don't want to let you down but I am hell bound." I have also gotten the message of general humanity, and our flaws as a whole. This person seems to have a general outlook on humanity thinking that we are all the same when he says "No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed". You can see the negativity in this person as they talk about their dark deeds and their utter hopelessness in life thinking that there is no fresh start. The songs also gives off a message that says sometimes you just can't let people in and that reality can be a bitter pill to swallow.
Rhyme
There are many examples of rhyme in the song.
Repetition
Here are examples of repetition in the song.
"Demons" is an indie rock song written and sung by the alternative rock group Imagine Dragons. It was written with the help of record producer Alex da Kid. The song has a lot of meaning and was revealed by the group to be dedicated to Tyler Robinson, a fan who had died after struggling with cancer. I've selected this song because of its depth. Regret is something we've all felt. Some feel it stronger or more frequently than others. And its something that eats at you until you can learn to let it go and move on. This song shows you that everybody makes mistakes but you have to learn how to forgive yourself first before seeking forgiveness from others and sometimes that's not easy.
Assonance
When the days are
cold
And the cards all
fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of
gold
When your dreams all
fail
And the ones we
hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood’s run
stale
Curtain’s
call
Is the last of
all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners
crawl
No matter what we
breed
We still are made of
greed
Your eyes, they shine so
bright
I wanna save that
light
I can't escape this
now
Unless you show me
how
It’s dark i
nside
It’s where my demons
hide
It’s where my demons hide
Metaphors
Here are the metaphors in the song.
Here are examples of assonance in the song.
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
(repeated twice in the song)
They say it's what you
make
I say it's up to
fate
Don't wanna let you
down
But I am hell
bound
So they dug your
grave
And the
masquerade
Though this is all for
you
Don't wanna hide the
truth

A figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
But with the beast inside
There’s nowhere we can hide
We still are made of greed
It's woven in my soul
