Transcript of INJURY SCENARIOS
Mungo is playing rugby and gets a boot to the face in a ruck. He has a lot of blood coming a cut above his eye.....
Grace is playing lacrosse and a wayward stick hits her very hard on the head. Immediately she starts to complain of a headache and feeling dizzy......
Frankie is sprinting in a 100m race and half way through the race she suddenly clutches her hamstring and starts limping unable to continue......
James is playing football and during a tackle does over his ankle. He can't put any weight on it and it instantly starts to swell up...
Ellie is playing netball and trips over the netball post lands heavily on her wrist. She hears a crack and is in a lot of pain......
Calum is snowboarding and goes off a big jump, he is attempting a backflip but mistimes it and lands awkwardly on his back......
George is skiing and accidentally skis into a partially frozen lake........
-Pulled muscle - strain
-Overstretching of the muscle or moving it too quickly
bruising , cut or concussion
blood pouring from head
clean and bandage up the cut
-Sharp pain, swelling or bruising
-Muscle may spasm
-Muscle may be weakened
Snapping sound, a lot of pain in the area,
put them in the recovery position
spaced out (mungo)
- loss of consciousness
- weak or irregular pulse
-dizziness or headache
-could even be bleeding from the ears.
Elevate injured area
Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
feeling of ankle giving away
swelling and brusing
Broken back or spinal injury or concussion.

-put in the recovery position
- see a doctor
-make sure the airways are free.
Pain in the back, may have heard a snapping sound.
remove all wet clothing
put on dry clothing
Do not move the person unless in real danger. Stabilize the head so there is no movement. Open up the air ways if they are not breathing.
Rest - to limit movement
Ice- to reduce swelling
Compression- to stop bleeding
Elevation- to allow blood to flow through the blood
loss of conciousness
pop back into place if qualified to do so
numb hands and feet
get the person indoors
seek medical advice
pain around the joint
disfigured / out of shape
