Social Bookmarking with Pinterest Problem Last Year's Solution This Year's Solution Boards are now set up in Pinterest, with similar functionality, but looks better.
http://pinterest.com/duncanmacleod/ Adding links to subjects was taking too long. Copying/pasting across classes & units on VLE. I decided to use http://www.diigo.com/list/dimacleod/
pointing classes to relevant
Advantages were that I could
add to the lists easily from
smartphone and browser.
Disadvantage was that it
looks like a plain list in chronological order. Problem: No Pinnable Graphic Search for a CC image, pin that to the relevant board & then edit the pin. Paste in the URL of the article & give it the real description. Copyright JISC Legal have posted advice about the use of Pinterest.
"This activity is problematic as you are only entitled to publish images on a website where you are either the copyright owner of the image or have permission or a licence from the copyright holder to do so or where copyright in the image has expired."
"The responsibility for copyright clearance of any image posted to Pinterest remains with the user. "
http://goo.gl/ZhwKO Hopes for Future? If no pinnable image, it would be nice to have choice of standard CC images to select for pin.

It would be nice to be able to move the pins around on the board.

A board where I can let students submit pins for me to curate (eg 'guests' who can see the hidden board).
