than you think This is a little-known member of our family.
What do you see when you look at her? How did you feel before they opened it? 5.1.2013 How was it received? “God created man in his own image.” It is more explicitly rendered in the Book of Mormon thus: “All men were created in the beginning after mine own image” (Ether 3:15). And I, God, created man in mine own image, in the image of mine Only Begotten created I him; male and female created I them... And I, God, blessed them.
...And behold, all things which I had made were very good;
Genesis 1 Our bodies are His gift to us. With the supreme gift being that we are created like Him -- in His image. Our bodies are His gift to us. If we are created in His image, what does that mean?
Here is how Joseph Smith described first seeing the Father: What do you pull from this statement? There is a portion of this brightness and glory that live within us! He loves us!
My goal is to you have you reconsider the way you look at yourself in the mirror.
Do not ever THINK or SAY anything critical about this beautiful body you have been given - a body that is tenderly and lovingly given from our Father. Just as you would never inconsiderately complain about a beautifully wrapped present someone gave you, please stop any negative thinking about yourself. Can you imagine saying those criticisms in front of the Father himself? He who gave you everything and sacrificed his son for you to have this body and this experience.
EACH of you has a beautiful body that runs, skips, dances, sings, throws, leaps, twirls, hugs, smiles, kneels, and serves as our Savior serves. There is only one very beautiful exception in our Young Women's Group, who is loved and cherished by us all. And she still finds so many reasons to laugh and smile although she can't communicate it all to us very well. This room is full of so much beauty.
So catch yourself when negatives thoughts arise and replace those thoughts or words with compliments. We sometimes get literal cracks in life! A tribute to each of you beautiful young women. "One virtuous young woman,
led by the spirit, can change the world."
Elaine S. Dalton, 2013 Strength and beauty go hand in hand.
