The X Factor-2008 Big Dreams-2005 a Hard Beginning-1997 One Direction! -July 23, 2010; 8:22 p.m. Bibliography !1/5 of 1D! A Life of Fame! Liam Payne by alexia parisien An early gift -1993 Education-2007 Some new records-2011 Liam James Payne was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, on August 29, 1993, at 1:00 p.m. His parents are Geoff and Ruth Payne. Liam was born at New Cross Hospital three weeks early. Because of this, he had many health problems as a child. As a child Liam spent much of his younger years in and out of the hospital. At the age of four his doctor discovered that his kidney was scarred and disfuncional. He had to have 32 shots in the morning and evening to help cope with the pain. Liam was bullied in school because of his health issues. Liam started showing singing talents at a young age, but that was not his dream. Even though he had many health issues his dream was to become and Olympic runner. Liam would wake up at 5 am every morning to run before school. He was a member of the Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club. At the age of 14 Liam missed out on an opportunity to be part of the England schools team. He then decided to continue with his singing dream. Liam joined Pink Productions to focus on his voice. Liam completed 11 GCSEs at St. Peter's Collegiate School. He then moved on to study music technology at Wolverhampton College's Paget Road campus. His school was a further education college. Liam Payne first decided to follow his dreams in 2008 at the age of 14. He auditioned for the X Factor's fifth series, but Simon Cowell thought that he was missing something and that he was not ready. Liam had planned to audition the next year but he couldn't because of the fact that the application age was raised to age 16. In 2010 at the age of 16, Liam went back and auditioned again. This time he received a standing ovation from the audience and Simon. Liam continued on to bootcamp where he sang, Stop crying your heart out. Simon thought that he was a bit one-dimensional. Simon then placed him with four other boys, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. The name of their group became One Direction or 1D! He sang Cry Me a River for a girl he once asked out over 20 times and once she said yes she dumped him the next day. As a group working together they won many awards and broke records of some of the most famous people and bands.
