The story allows for various interpretations. Author of the book describes it as romance, but it can be seen as consumption culture commentary, modern society satire, a crime story and so on.
Fight Club is about an insomniac, who is bored with his life and burned out in his career. Everything changes when on a business trip he meets charismatic Tyler Durden, who makes soap for a living. Together they start an underground brawling club that later transforms into anarchist organization.
