The Soundtrack of 'The
Tradgedyof Romeo and Juliet' Prezi made by Halie Liles
Mr. Mayo, 4th Period This song tells the story of how a
guy feels when he thinks he is about to lose his girlfriend, and how he feels about her. One lyric I think connects to 'Romeo and Juliet' is when he says "If you walk away, Every day it will rain", and "I'll never be your mother's favorite, Your daddy can't even look me in the eye." These are two lines I think connect to the story because Romeo will never be respected by the Capulets because of the family feud, but if he walks away from Juliet, then neither of them will be happy. "It Will Rain" by Bruno Mars 'Love Story' tells the story about how a girl's parents won't let her be with the one person she really loves: her Romeo. They feel that they were meant to be together, but that meant nothing to their families. They start to see each other in secret, and in the end 'Romeo' asks her dad if he can marry his daughter, and they get married. Although this doesn't happen in the story written by Shakespeare, I think it was a great way to end the song. Love Story by Taylor Swift This song tells the story of a girl that thinks about what would happen if premature death would occur. In the video, she shows how she would miss her family and leave behind all of the people she loves, She ends up running to her family and showing them how much she loves them. In the story of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet sees that Romeo is dead and decides to kill herself, thinking about how much she would miss him, which is why I chose this song. This song tells the story about a girl that wants to know how much the guy she loves loves her. She also explains how she doesn't want the whole world, she just wants to be the girl he loves all of his life. This relates to the story of Romeo and Juliet because Juliet really loves Romeo and wants to be with him the rest of her life. All Your Life by The Band Perry Marry Me by Train 'Marry Me' tells the story of a man that says that forever will never be long enough to say that he has had enough time with the girl that he loves. One of the lyric that I think really connects with the story is when the singer says "Forget the world now, we won't let them see, but there's one thing left to do, Marry Me." This connects to the story of Romeo and Juliet because they could let their feelings for each other show, not care about the dispute between their families get in the way of their relationship. Check Yes Juliet by We the Kings 'Check yes Juliet' is a song about a guy that is trying to convince the girl that he loves to run away with him. He says things like 'Run baby run, Don't ever look back, They'll tear us apart, If we give them the chance.' I think this relates to the story of Romeo and Juliet because they would have to escape from their families in order to be together, and if their families caught them together, then they would be in HUGE trouble. Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis The song 'Bleeding Love' is about a couple. The girl's friends keep on trying to get her away from her boyfriend, but no matter how hard they try, they can't keep her away from him. I think this song makes a connection to the story of Romeo and Juliet because even though their families practically hate each other, they are still in love and won't let that get in the way. Never Too Late by Three Days Grace 'Never Too Late' is a song about a couple who are going through a hard time. The boyfriend is trying to convince his girlfriend that even though these times are hard, that they can make it through together. I think this song really connects to the story of Romeo and Juliet because even though their parents hate each other, they can make it through together and keep the love that they have. Whatever It Takes by Michael Buble feat. Ron Sexsmith 'Whatever It Takes' is one of my personal favorites. It is a song about two people in love, and the guy is saying that whatever it takes to put the lonely days behind them and embrace the love that they have, he will find it to do so. He wants to prove to his girlfriend that if they acknowledge the love that they have, then they will find the strength to carry on with their relationship. This really connects to Romeo and Juliet because if they can get past the feud between their families, then they will have a bright future together. If I Die Young by The Band Perry I've Got the World on a String by Frank Sinatra 'I've Got the World on a String' is a generally happy song about a man who is in love. He is happy to be in love, proclaiming "I've got the world on a string, and I'm sitting on a rainbow, Got the string around my finger, Oh what a world, what a life, I'm in love." I think this song can be connected to Romeo and Juliet because when they first met, they were 'in love' and wanted to get married, like, ASAP. So, they must have been pretty happy to meet each other. FIN If I Die Young If I Die Young is a song about a girl who wonders what would happen if premature death were to occur. She thinks about who she would leave behind, and thinks about the boy that she loves. In the end, she runs back to her family. This relates to the story of Romeo and Juliet because they both end up commiting suicide because they can't be together.
