For his 1978 book with Brian Froud, Faeries, Lee was runner-up for the science fiction and fantasy Locus Award, year's best art or illustrated book Alan Lee (20 August 1947) is an English book illustrator and movie conceptual designer.Lee has illustrated dozens of fantasy books, including LORD OF THE RINGS AND THE HOBBIT. These are some of his paintings of the shire /rivendell and Frodo Here is a video of his work Lee did cover paintings for the 1983 Penguin edition of Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy Alan also was involved in the book called The moon's revenge Here is a trailer of the Hobbit Here is a book on amazon with lots of

Alan Lee, his wife, and two children live in Chagford, Dartmoor, Devon, England Personal life The Future Alan is still painting and drawing today and he will be working hard with two more hobbit films on the way to cinamas in a few years so we will be seeing more of his fantastic artwork soon!
