The Mortal Instruments Triliogy
and The Cinderella Story Behind it! As most know, a Cinderella story
is told about someone--preferably female--
wanting something or someone but there is
always obstacles in the way. Going through
everything that the main character goes through, in the end they achieve their goals or in most told Cinderella stories, they find "true love". But the truth is that not
all Cinderella stories are the same.
Sometimes they have the same plot, but
the characters and actions are totally different; such as The Mortal Instruments Triliogy. Clary Fray is the main character in the story and comes to fall in love with a guy who turns out to be a very attractive demon slayer, Jace. But there is more than one reason that there love is near to impossible....
When Clary encounters the Shadowhunters (Jace, Alec, and Isabelle) slay a demon in her favorite club, she becomes curious. The day after her encounter with the Shadowhunters, her mother strangely disappears. So she teams up with the Shadowhunter gang who might have an idea of who kidnapped her mom...Valentine, the evil and menacing Shadowhunter and who is also Clary's father.
In the process, Jace and Clary fall in love but their relationship became impossible when they find out that they were brother and sister. They did save her mother, who was still in a coma till the beginning of the 3rd book, and the Mortal cup(the device that creates more Shadowhunters) was retieved from Valentine as well. Come the 2nd & 3rd book, they run into more conflicts such as Simon(Clary's best friend) becoming a vampire, Valentine getting the other instrument, and a war raging...the story plot just won't let Jace and Clary together. Clary Fray. Jace Wayland. Understanding the Cinderella story behind THIS story......
Jace and Clary can't be together because of all the problems and obstacles they
face, but they didn't give up and they made sure they made it through all circumstances
to get what they wanted

Jace and Clary are "siblings"
Valentine is after Jace, Clary, and Clary's mother and the Mortal instruments
Clary's best friend, Simon, is not only in love with her--like Jace--, but becomes a vampire in the second book
Clary's mom is in a coma
A war begins in Alicante over the Mortal Instruments
And with all this, and because of their family, Clary and Jace can't love each other the way they want to After the Conflicts...
Come the end of the series, Jace and Clary find out they aren't brother and sister and take on a real relationship
They win the war with Valentine and kill him, retrieving the Mortal Instruments, too
Clary's mom is back and out of the coma
And Simon knows that Clary loves Jace and moves on because he knows she's happy
After going through all this and finally defeating Valentine, everybody finds happiness just as the main characters do in the Cinderella story Others...
Isabelle: She finds love with Simon.
Alec: Turns out he is gay and he finds love with a fiesty warlock named, Magnus.
Clary's mom: She ends up with her best friend, Luke.

In the end, after taking on all their challenges they found happiness. Opposed to the evil stepsisters, the writer of this story changed it to the evil Shadowhunter dad, Valentine. And in the original story, the character took on things like not being good enough to go to the ball or being a slave to her stepmom and stepsisters vs. war, suckish love, and the best friend being a vampire... In comparison to the original Cinderella story,
the Mortal Instruments Trilogy has many more
obstacles to overcome for the characters and almost didn't end in a happy ending opposed to the original Cinderella. But the text isn't an exact resemblance of the original Cinderella. And even though it didn't have any special slippers in it or evil stepsisters, there were other things that took place of those things.
