FTCP: Skills and Tools I've Learned to Use
Formative & Summative Assessment:

In order to realistically discover what my students know, what they don't know, and what they have retained, I have made extensive use of formative and summative assessments in class.

The assessments allow the students to apply their knowledge while I am
able to give immediate feedback.

Melodic Dictation
Gamification:

Through use of games that test the knowledge of the students, I am able to keep the class fun while still observing their skill improvement and retention.

Project-Based Learning:

Project-Based Learning lends itself to performance-based assessments. PBL tasks allow me to implement this teaching tool by assigning melodies for the class to sing together,
in duets, and individually.

Scaffolding:

Scaffolding transfers the responsibility of learning to the students. I achieve this responsibility transfer
by assigning online and group tasks,
as well as work with duet partners.
