What task does the robot preform? What human functions or task does this robot simulate?


How is the robot taught to preform its tasks?
What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use them?
Name some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to complete this task.
ASIMO helps people in their homes.
ASIMO does homework, also he goes and gets the groceries for the family.ASIMO also cooks for the family, also CLEANS THE HOUSE!
ASIMOS hands can pick up things like tools, or groceries, or toys.
Advantages: he can clean, do homework, buy groceries,and he cooks for the family.
Disadvantages: ASIMO takes jobs away from other people, he cost lots of money to build him, and it needs a power source.
ASIMO is used in houses. ASIMO has 34 degrees of freedom.
Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope ( How many degrees of freedom or flexible joints does it have)?
Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so, what other tasks can it perform?
ASIMO is either pre-programed to learn certain tasks or is control by via PC, wireless controls, hand gestures or voice commands.
ASIMO has 6 sensors. ASIMO uses his 6 sensors to help with his stability and orientation, also he uses them to interact with his surroundings, and he uses them to mimic abilities of human skin and muscles.
Describe the impact that this robot has or had or could have on it intended audience
The impact ASIMO has had on his audience is he is very popular because Honda made an app called running with ASIMO.
ASIMO can create house keeping such as cleaning, cooking, helping with
homework, etc.
What types of jobs/careers can this robot create to provide employment for people?
