The Sun
The Sun is a star
The Sun is orbited by the eight planets
With out The Sun's intense energy there would be no life on earth

Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system
It is the closest to the sun
Two space crafts have gone to Mercury
Mercury doesn't have any moons
Venus is the brightest plant in the solar system
It is sometimes referred to as the sister planet to Earth
Mars is also known as the red planet.
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.
Super Kids Science Team Project
Pluto and Other Dwarf Plants
The Asteroid Belt and Asteriods
Forces That Hold The Solar System Together
Uranus, named after the the father of the Roman god Saturn
Uranus has been visited by only one spacecraft, Voyager 2 on Jan 24 1986.
The Moon
Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system.
The red spot on it is actually a giant hurricane that has been raging for at least four hundred years.
Jupiter's largest moon is called Europa.
Comets are composed primarily of frozen ammonia, methane or water!!!
Comets don’t have any moons or rings.
There is an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter with thousands of asteroids inside of it.
80 per cent of metallic asteroids are made of iron and the extra 20 percent is made of nickel, iridium, palladium, platinum, and gold.
Neptune is named after the Roman god of the sea.
Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to avast Neptune.
There are currently five official dwarf planets in our solar system.
Pluto is the second closest dwarf plant to the sun and from 1930 when it was discovered up until 2006.
Gravity holds the planets in orbit around the sun and the moons in orbit around the planets.
Without the gravitational pull of the sun and moon,we would’t have tides.
Earth is the third planet from the Sun.
Earth was formed somewhere around 4.54 billion years ago.
At a distance of 384,400 km from the Earth.
The Moon is our closest celestial neighbor .
Saturn is the sixth planet.
