By Maksymilian Jaremko What are the defing characteristics of the archetecture of you country? Was the Architecture of your country influenced by another country or culture? The building materials used in the building of the Grand mosque were from many countries including Italy, Germany, Morocco, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Malaysia, Iran, China, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Greece and United Arab Emirates. More than 3,000 workers and 38 renowned contracting companies took part in the construction of the mosque. Natural materials were chosen for much of its design and construction due to their long-lasting qualities, including marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystals and ceramics. The defining characteristics of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and of the United Arab Emirates are Saudi Arabian architecture (At each archway, it comes to a point). The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque The architecture of the United Arab Emirates was influenced by the Saurian Arabian’s mosques, in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in each archway there are points at the top.
•The complex covers an area of 22,412 m2
•33,000 tons of steel and 250,000 m3 of concrete were used. They lay on 6,500 foundation piles
•The courtyard has a total of 1,048 columns
•A total of 82 domes belong to the mosque
•The main dome is the largest mosque dome in the world: 85 meters high with a diameter of 32.8 meters.
