INTRODUCTION AND RECAP
Lack of common agreements, unlike in cfc where we have are covenant and formation courses
Many things that work in cfc will not work outside
Reproof or correction.
Often we can't be free in expressing affection because we may be misunderstood.
We need wisdom and sensitivity.
WE OFTEN HAVE TO RELATE IN A
Be men and women of peace. Rom 12:18
Christian Personal Relationships
Talk 6: Relating with People Outside CFC
A. In CFC, everything can be worked out.
Dealing with conflict situation
This is an incomplete notion because it leaves out the deity of Christ, and
limits Christianity to merely being a Good Samaritan. In fact, a Christian can get angry (righteous anger), as Jesus did. In fact, non-Christians can also do good.
This is a wrong notion because Christians are not taught to escape from problems but to face them.
The Blessed Virgin Mary is the model Christian.
Mary was the first to believe. From the moment of the Annunciation and conception, and to the moment of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem.
Mary followed Jesus step by step. She was a singular witness to the years of Jesus’ infancy and hidden life in Nazareth. She followed him when he began to teach, preach and heal. But most of all, she followed him to his death on the cross.
Mary witnessed the dawn of the Church since she was with the apostles in the upper room in Jerusalem.
Relating to People who are not in CFC
we have to relate to many others
WE HAVE TO RELATE WELL WTH PEOPLE
BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE CFC
DIFFERENT WAY THAN IN CFC
B. Titus 3:1-2
Obedient and ready for service.
Do something Good for them.
Yet be firm and bold.
Put up with as much as it is right to.
a. Our first concern is to establish a good
relationship with people.
b. Sometime we are called on to be heroic. Mt. 5:38-42
If it Goes beyond what is right, we can decide to separate
to the necessary degree.
Quit job, see friend less often, move out of dorm.
Separation does not mean lack of love.
we rarely make a complete break.
Is it right for christian to separate from such a situation? outside cfc, YES. It may even be the best thing to do.
Do not fight Back.
A hard Teaching, but the Lord's way.
We want to take revenge.
We're bound to experience a lot of evil in the world.
Have faith that the power of God's goodness in us is stronger than the power of evil.
The Lord has not called us to experience peace but to be men and women of peace.
We are in the world, so we need to relate to many people outside Cfc.
We need to relate well, thoughin ways different from the way we relate to our brethren. we are to be peaceful. patient, forbearing etc
By the way we relate,
we are to be a light to the world
