Why was the band influential?
The Beatles influenced millions of people to listen to Pop Rock music and their female fans were know to be very hysterical.
Other bands were influenced by their style and melodies and even copied them.
Their unusual clothing and mop top hair style influenced fashion trends.
Their upbeat style of music was popular with both young and old.
"I Want To Hold Your Hand"
"She Loves You"
"Yellow Submarine"
"Hey Jude"
"Hard Days Night
"Please Please Me" - the first song performed in the UK.
They sold 1.6 billion singles in the U.S.
What did the Beatles do?
They became very popular in England before coming to America.
In 1964, they performed on the Ed Sullivan show. Approximately 73M people tuned in - they were famous in America overnight.
This began the "British Invasion."
Their fans named them the "Fabulous Four."

Who are the Beatles?
A musical group of men from Liverpool, England.
The band was started by Paul McCartney and John Lennon in 1957.
Later, George Harrison joined the band as the lead guitarist in 1961 and drummer, Ringo Starr, in 1962.
