photo credit Nasa / Goddard Space Flight Center / Reto Stöckli by Nicholas Thompson Brazil's Five Themes of Geography Brazil is located in South America. Brazil's capital is Brasilia at about 15 degrees south and about 48 degrees west. Brazil is north of Paraguay and Uruguay. Brazil is south of Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Brazil is west of the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is east of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, and Paraguay. Brazil's northern area is actually on the equator. Location One of my physical features is the Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world. Over half of the Amazon Rainforest is in Brazil. 10% of the worlds known species live in the Amazon Rainforest. The Brazilian Highlands covers most of the eastern, southern, and central portions of Brazil. Most of Brazil's population is either in the highlands or by the coastal strip. Christo Redentor means Christ The Redeemer which is the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world. The statue stands and watches all of Rio de Janeiro. It is 130 feet tall and was made in 1922. Place Region One of the most populated and main physical regions in all of Brazil is the coastal line by the Atlantic Ocean. it is very warm there and provides many resources from the beach. The Amazon Rainforest is also right by the coastal strip. One of the human regions is Brasilia the capital of Brazil. It gets many resources because it is the capital and many people live there in Brasilia. Human Environment Interaction Brazil has to adapt to the heat and humidity of Brazil. The northern part of Brazil is on the equator and is by the Atlantic Ocean. They also need the Amazon Rainforest for medicines with the bugs and the sicknesses from the heat. To stay cool in the heat they would need air conditioning and a lot of water. Brazil depends on energy, water, and the rainforest. Because of the heat and the humidity. People of Brazil live in very crowded cities like Brasilia or Rio de Janeiro. Most of them probably get around on bikes because a lot of buildings are close together but the buildings can still be far away so they would also use cars and buses. The Amazon Rainforest provides many medicines not just for Brazil but the whole world. Medicines are probably the major export of Brazil. In Brazil they speak Portuguese and are very proud to speak that language because many countries in South America speak spanish. Brazil communicates just like any other big country, technology.
