Welcome to UCSB!
This is an exciting time in your life. There will be numerous changes and new experiences. But you’ve probably been hearing that a lot lately.

After you handle the important stuff like meeting your roommate, finding your classes, and strolling through I.V., we encourage you to check out the library.

It’s the tallest building on campus; you can’t miss it!

Here is a quick introduction… Nearly 4,000 people visit our library every day. Mon – Thurs: 8am – Midnight
Fri: 8am – 9pmSat: 9am – 9pm
Sun: 10am – Midnight

(extended hours during deadweek & finals) Davidson Library Typical Hours The library has eight jam-packed floors. Not only will you find books and journals, but also maps, manuscripts, ancient artifacts, geospatial images, records, CDs, DVDs, wax cylinders, and tons of other items. Use your UCSB Access Card to check out materials. The library has over three million books and journals! If there's something you need that we don’t have, we can probably track it down for you You can eat in Davidson Library! Enjoy coffee, tea, and a variety of snacks. The Library Coffee Cart is located on the ground floor of Davidson Library. You’ll be studying a lot more, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be comfortable. There are over 2,000 chairs throughout the library. There are more than 200 public computers. Not only can you get online, but you also have access to MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You can also check out a laptop for four hours at the Circulation Desk. The Library is completely wireless! The Arts Library Filled with books, CDs, LPs, magazines, and more, come explore the Arts Library for your artistic and musical inclinations. The UCSB Library has something for everyone.
