The ECONYL® Reclaiming Program
Our waste task force
The international network established by the Aquafil Group to recover nylon 6 waste.
There are two ECONYL®
reclaim managers
in charge of new agreements with companies, consortia, associations and local agents collecting polyamide-6-based products at the end of their lifecycle.
Step 2
ECONYL® waste preparation
OUR TARGET: 100% POST-CONSUMER WASTE
CLEANING, SHREDDING & MECHANICAL PREPARATION
Fishing nets, fabrics, carpet fluff + production discards, industrial plastic components and oligomers
Ajdovščina, near Ljubljana, Slovenia
Step 3
ECONYL® depolymerization
The miracle: 100% REGENERATION
Ljubljana, Slovenia
An exclusive chemical/mechanical production process which enables Nylon 6 waste to be regenerated infinitely.

The resulting product is a polymer with the
same
technical and quality characteristics of the product obtained applying traditional systems.
Step 4
ECONYL® polymerization
Caprolactam with the same characteristics as the one coming from fossil raw material
We transform the ECONYL® caprolactam into nylon 6 polymer
Ljubljana,
Slovenia
ECONYL® transformation
The PA6 polymers produced from ECONYL® caprolactam are processed into BCF yarn (carpet flooring) and NTF yarn (textile yarn)
Step 5
Step 6
ECONYL® commercialization
We sell BCF and NTF yarns to our customers who produce goods for their final markets.
We regenerate nylon 6
from spent fishing nets
into ECONYL® yarn
will make new carpets from ECONYL® yarn
Our involvement in the social initiative:
