Transcript of BLACK HOLES
BLACK HOLE IN OUR GALAXY
Did you know a super massive black hole existed in the middle of our galaxy. Since the black hole is in the middle, we are about two thirds out of the center the sun takes 250million years to complete one orbit.
DO BLACK HOLES LIVE FOREVER???
Since nothing can escape gravitational force of a black hole, it was thought that black holes are impossible to destroy, but scientist now have now discovered that black holes actually evaporate, slowly returning it's energy back to the universe.
A black hole is created when an object is unable to withstand the compressing force of it's gravity. One of our common type of black hole is produced by certain dying stars. A star with a mass greater than 20 times the mass of our sun can produce a black hole at the end of it's life.
INSIDE A BLACK HOLE
Black holes look like random empty dark places in space, but they have extremely strong gravity. Different black holes have different sizes. Since nobody has ever seen a black hole up close, scientist have many ideas about them.
The Largest Black Holes in the Universe
HOW ARE BLACK HOLES CREATED?
HOW DO BLACK HOLES GROW?
Black holes can grow by capturing nearby materials. Anything that enters the event of horizon can never escape the gravity of a black hole.
There are so many black holes in the Universe that it's impossible to count them. It's just like asking how many grains of sand are on the beach.. None of the black holes are close enough to pose out any danger to Earth.
What are black holes?
Black holes are empty dark places in space that has gravity so strong that light can't escape it. Since light can not escape a black hole, they are invisible. Special tools are used to help us find black holes and learn more about them.
X-rays, visible light and radio waves can detect black holes.
