Important tips to keep in mind Passport Tips Tip 1 Tip 2 Tip 3 Make a photocopy of the picture page of your passport. Save it on your hard drive or print a copy and keep it separate from your passport. When traveling, keep your passport in a safe place. Do not keep it in an outer compartment of your backpack or suitcase. When you arrive in your host country, keep your passport in a safe place and keep the photocopy in a separate safe place. Tip 4 Don’t bring your passport with you when you are on excursions unless it is absolutely necessary. You can bring the photocopy with you instead.
