OTEC - Royal Oak Lesson Plan Job shadow Luncheon Reflection and Thank you In this lesson, students will conduct a task which requires a self evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses. Students will use the Career Cruising website to research career areas of their interest. They will read the job description and working conditions while identifying the key strengths of that job. The lesson enabled the students to see the greater value of using career cruising as a tool in career exploration.
The students were able to use formal communiation skills when they had to make contact with their employer via a phone call or e-mail.
Students benefited fom the job shadow real life experience.
Helped them make more informed decisions with career goals in mind.
Excellent way to connect the school with the business community.
Learned about appropriate business attire and etiquette as far as thanking the employer by writing a business letter.

WHAT WE WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY
