The power of holding the ability to administer to another a sense of personal acceptance or personal approval.

When Teams and Followers look up to a person and he or she is well respected. Hence, people listen to him, trust him and follow the person’s lead.

The ability to administer to another information, knowledge or expertise.

Doctors, Lawyers, knowledgeable people.

They can convince people to follow and trust them because of rich personal workplace and academic experience.

Authority or power that is dependent on fear, suppression of free will, and/or use of punishment or threat, for its existence.

Someone is forced to do something he or she is not necessarily willing to do.

The Meaning of Power
Power is the capacity of a person, team, or organization to influence others.

Power is a person’s ability to get something done the way the person wants it done.

People have power they don’t use and may not know they possess.

Power requires one person’s perception of dependence on another person.

Why does having power matter?
With power you can…
Acquire early information about decisions and policy shifts.
Get fast access to decision makers.
Maintain regular, frequent contact with decision makers.

Essential for smooth functioning of any organization (Employees need to be channeled and coordinated in particular ways to achieve the organizational objectives).
