Transcript of Guns N` Roses

Guns N` Roses

Guns n` Roses is an American Hard Rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985 to present. They found success in what is considered the time of "Grunge bands"
Meet the band

Saul Hudson, aka Slash was formally Guns N Roses lead guitarist. Slash is rated # 65 of all time best guitarist. Slash left the band because of a disagreement with Axl Rose. Slash has toured with Micheal Jackson. (*2)

Appetite for Destruction
Appetite for Destruction was Guns N Roses first album together, they completed this album in 1987 and sold more than 60 million copies. In that time, it was the best selling album of all time. It has been 28 years since the album was released. (*1) It was produced in April of 1987 in Rumbo studios New York.
Influence on Others
Guns N Roses has influenced many other bands, and also the way we listen to music. Guns N Roses influenced Areosmith, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica. In the bands heyday, they filled stadiums to the brim and toured many times. People loved Guns N Roses.
Scope of Activity
Guns N Roses took their time with albums to make them the best. They performed many concerts and overall treated their fans with respect. People didn't like Guns N Roses for the people they were, they like GNR for their songs, and the attachment they felt. They gave people comfort.
From Slash's Solos, To Axl's note range, Guns N Roses touched Rock and Rolls roots and shook it to its core. Guns N Roses can make a simple note hard, just because it sounds stronger. Axl Rose could keep a crowd on its feet for hours because he was entertaining, it was like letting a bird out of its cage. That's why people love them.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Guns N Roses were inducted first year of eligibility, the first band to ever achieve that. Inducted in 2012 by Green Day, Axl Rose did not attend the ceremony because of feuds with the entire band. The original band received the award and went on to play songs for the crowd.
Nothing lasts forever
After many feuds with band members, many members went their separate ways at different times. The band has never broken up, just different members have replaced missing spots. But that didn't impress fans. The band never explained why they all left, but it probably has to do with addictions, Axls arrogance, and concerts. Axl is the only remaining original member today.
The show must go on!
Guns N Roses have finally completed an album after 17 years of waiting. The album was released on July 1st 2014. It features 25 of their old and new songs.
Same band, New members
Guns N Roses have made drastic changes to their band, they have added multiple new instruments and new names. Dizzy Reed, DJ Ashba, and Tommy Stinson just to name a few.
Izzy Stradlin
Izzy Stradlin was Guns N Roses rhythm guitarist. He was the only member of the band to graduate high school. Izzy provided a solid structure when the band was rough. He left the band in 1991 because of issues with Axl. (*3)
Born April 8 1962 (52)
Duff McKagan
Guns N Roses Bass Guitarist. Loved playing guitar as a kid. Played in 32 bands all his life. Well known for staying in the band for 12 years, and only member to not have a problem with Axl.
Born February 5 1964 (50)
Steven Adler
As Guns N Roses Drummer, Steven Adler fought many addictions and was involved in numerous fights. He was fired because of heroin addictions in 1990.
Why GNR Deserved to be inducted...
In the 1980`s and 1990`s, the band was recognized around the world for their rebelliousness, drugs, drinking, and women. They set the bar for other rock bands and received numerous amounts of popularity. Today, they continue to make music and tour.
Guns N Roses deserved to be inducted because they've changed the way we listen to music. They instantly attach people to their music and people can relate to them. Also, they have sold the most albums of all times in the US with 18 million copies. That's unbelievable.
