Up! To God's Record To God's Rescue To God's Restoration To God's Reign Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through? Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over? Refers to Egypt (nothing to do with the woman called Rahab in Joshua) 51:9 God is eternal (v12)
God is creator (v13)
We are his people (v16) When have I ever let you down? This is what your Sovereign Lord says, you God, who defends his people: "See, I have taken out of your hand the cup that made you stagger; from that cup, the goblet of my wrath, you will never drink again." 51:22 Luke 22:41-42
Jesus withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." At the cross:

The cup has been drunk

The cup has been removed Awake, awake, O Zion, clothe yourself with strength. Put on your garments of splendour, O Jerusalem, the holy city.
...
You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed. 52:1, 3 It is for freedom that Christ
has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Gal 5:1 Freedom Vindication God's people redeemed (v3)

God's name known (v6) Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus who died - more than that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Rom 8:33 How beautiful the feet are of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" 52:7 God's final rule (v10)

God's enduring presence (v12) All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.
...
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matt 28:18-20
