Cell Membrane
: It is like a gatekeeper and lets water and nutrients move into the cell
Golgi Complex
: It moves its contents to other parts of the cell or out of the cell. Proteins and lipids may be changed to do different jobs and packages materials to be moved out of the cell.
: Organelles where plants photosynthesize and have chlorophyll, which is found inside the inner membrane. The chlorophyll traps the energy of the sun, which is used to make sugar.
: It is the smallest organelle and makes proteins. There are more ribosomes than any other organelles and are composed of RNA. All cells have ribosomes because all cells need proteins to live.
: They are in plants that acts as storage tanks for food, water, or any types of nutrients a cell needs to survive and can store waste products so the rest of the cell is protected from rotting.
: It is the powerhouse of a cell and produces all the energy a cell needs. It breaks down sugar to produce energy, which is stored in the ATP. It has its own DNA, and can divide within the cell, and is covered by 2 membranes.
: A gel-like fluid that takes up most of the space inside a cell.
: It is the brain of the cell, and is the most biggest organelle in the cell. It is where the DNA is located, and also provides structural support for the tissue and cells. The DNA controls the function and structure of the cell and is inherited by the parents.
: It is covered by two membranes and is a dark area in the nucleus. It is where they make ribosomes and send messages on how to make proteins from the DNA to the RNA.
Cell Wall
: Provides and keeps the shape of the cells and acts as a protective barrier.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
: They are folded membranes where lipids, proteins, and other materials are created.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
: The ER that is covered in ribosomes, and is found near the nucleus. They make the cell’s proteins.
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
: The ER that has no ribosomes. They make lipids and break down poisonous materials that could damage the cell.
