Latin American Independence
The Haitian Revolution was a revolt led by slaves in the French colony known as Saint-Domingue. This revolt helped put an end to slavery and led to the Republic of Haiti. This slave revolt was the only one that led to founding the state and is said to be the most successful rebellion between Europe and the Americas. They dominated politics and economics and created another society. However, the state had a major set back when they were forced to pay 150 million gold francs for all of the lost slaves to French Slaveholders in order for recognition from France which was the state of the end of slavery.
Industrialization was the transition into the manufacturing process that originated in Britain. Due to advancements throughout history, the Industrial Revolution helped improve efficiency of water power and started using steam power more, it also led to the development of machine tools. This era also led to the Opium Wars and Imperialism.
The Opium War originated in China and was fought between Great Britain and China because of their different thoughts on diplomatic relations and trade plus other things. China wished to stop the spread of an addictive drug called opium and Britain didn't agree with China completely so they started another war. Great Britain won the war and continued to use opium to pay China as the primary payment. China was too weak to defend themselves which made them vulnerable to foreign powers.
Italian and German Unification
The Seven Weeks' War or the Austro-Prussian War was Prussia against Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, Hanover, and other German States. Most of the battles that this war was made up of were held in Bohemia and Germany. A shift of power among German states away from Austrian and towards Prussian states was a result of the war. The was was started by Otto von Bismark from Prussia to eliminate Austria from the confederation. Prussia expanded territory over time.
The Meiji Restoration is what led to the usage of practical imperial rule over Japan which is what caused huge changes in Japan's political and social structure. The leaders of the Meiji Restoration restored imperial rule in order to strengthen Japan which helped raise the Industrialization in Japan and led to the advancement of Japanese military power. Industrialization also helped to the making of national railway systems.
