Never look down at a GPS again Recon Instruments Direct-to-Eye Communication The Direct-to-Eye Communication displays vitals on a tiny screen inside the goggle lens. The screen can display things such as... Location Directions Text messages and Nearby Friends The display is actually coming from a 0.3 inch LCD that is magnified and projected through a prism It ends up looking like a foot wide sign that is about 5 feet ahead of you The idea of the viewfinder is similar to an HUD in a video game The micro computer in the side of the goggle lens feeds data from its tools such as: A GPS radio Three Accelerometers and a Thermometer Data can also be fed through from a bluetooth connected phone or camera allowing the user to download apps for the viewfinder such as: Avalanche alerts and games such as a Scavenger hunt The user can toggle between screens using the buttons on the side of the goggle lense The Direct-to-Eye communication viewfinder replaces having to have a phone to find directions and access the internet When it is released to the public it will cost about $300 dollars plus the price of the type of goggles the user choses.
