Transcript of Concave and Convex Lens

Concave and Convex Lens What is a Concave Lens? Concave lens are thinner in the middle than on the edges. When light travels through the lens refraction occurs, bending the light outward. What is a Convex lense? Convex lens are thinner on the edges than in the middle. When light travels through the lens refraction occurs bending the light inward. Your eyes are double convex lenses. What types of lenses are in telescopes? Telescopes use double convex for the objective lens, and they use a double convex and double concave lens combined for the eye piece. What type of lenses are in microscopes? In optical microscopes there are 3 lenses. In the microscopes those three lenses are all double convex lenses. http://www.universetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/lenswork.jpeg http://www.universetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/doublet.png http://www.universetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/lens.png http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c7/Lens_and_wavefronts.gif http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~emty/VikingShip_1.jpg What lens helps with nearsighted people?
