One method of disposal
involves absorption in vermiculite, dry sand, earth, or a similar material and then burial in a secured
sanitary landfill (HSDB 1996). Dry cleaning is a necessity today given some of todays fabrics. As long as the solvents are used & disposed of responsibly, this remains a viable alternate to clean clothes, saving them from being warn out and thrown away.
