741.5 and the first 3 letters of author's last name are typically GRAPHIC NOVELS such as Bone, Out of Boneville.

R stands for Reference and means the book is typically nonfiction and can't be checked out of the media center.
SC is Story Collection, meaning a collection of stories, usually fiction.
NC is North Carolina, and shows a book has a North Carolina connection such as the author or the topic.
VID or DVD are on the movies and can not be checked out by students.
PRO is Professional and for teacher check out only.
