Paramedic Roles and Responsibilities *Control bleeding

*Long Bone Immobilization
*Provide emergency care on medical calls
*Provide emergency care on trauma calls
*Spinal immobilization
*Provide medical support to firefighters at fires Requirements *Have an interest in emergency medical services
*Pass a state-approved EMT course (approximately 160 hours long)
*Pass state psychomotor exams
*Pass NREMT written exam
*Must be 18 for NREMT certification; 16 for CT - certification EMT Career *270,000 EMS providers certified by NREMT
*Median Pay $30,360
*Job outlook: 33% (much higher than average)
