A baby wombat is called a joey. Right now the wombat is giving birth to a baby wombat. It is the size of a jelly bean! When the wombat is born it will climb in the wombat pouch. When the wombat is in the pouch it drinks the milk, because it is a mammal. It will stay in the pouch for 4 to 10 months.
Right now the wombat is old! They can live from about 5 to 30 years!
The oldest wombat was 34 years old at the Brookfield zoo in Chicago, Illinois.
Their predators are dingos, foxes, wild dogs and cats. Their biggest enemy are humans.

Right now the wombat has all the fur it can have. Colored brown,tan,black or grey. The wombat is out of his or her mother's burrow. Then the wombat has to dig with it's claws to make it's own burrow.
Right now the wombat is out of the pouch. It has some fur. It can now eat grass. The wombat still needs to stay with it's mother and father! It has to stay in the wombat's burrow. Though predators can kill it before it get's to this stage!
Wombats live in large burrows.
From 10 to 100 feet long.
Up to 20 inches wide.
They dig them with their front claws.
They can have more than 1 burrow.
Wombats like to live alone.
