In exchange, they would give him their services. The idea of feudalism began evolving in the 18th century because of works published by Montesquieu and Henri de Boulainvilliars. Annotation Guilds were a large part of the developement of cities and towns. They would control their workers hours prices, and complaints. As well as providing them help and protection. There were different kinds of guilds, such as craft guilds, that went from people who made clothing to stonemasons I think this brought forth a better way of managing workers while keeping them relatively happy. The Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas are the people who mainly made up the Americas. But, there were all eventually killed off or drived off their land because of incoming Europeans. The Europeans would either fight them or just transmit diseases to them. The Mayans are the ones who created the solar calendar, this calender has been in use ever since. Poetry and pictographs were highly valued among the Aztecs. The Incas were best known for their engineering, an example of this would be their system of roads. The Inca Annotation The one hundred year war involved the French and English fighting against each other. It was early in the war that the English were winning but the French fought back and won the war. What it did to feudalism was influence a shift of power from feudal lords to monarchs and commoners. Military technology also helped because they made noble's knights and castles much less useful The Renaissance began with the rediscovery of the classical world. Merchants and crusaders would bring back classical learning from the Byzzantine Empire. Scholars started collecting and reading ancient manuscropts from monasteries. The reason for most Renaissance art was to show the importance of people and nature. Some other characteristics of Renaissance art involve: lifelike, three-dimensional figures, colors responding to light, reflecting interest in nature, etc. Renaissance Art was much more influenced by classical art than medieval art Annotation In Medieval times, the church played a massive role in every person's life. They led everyone to believe that God, heaven, and hell existed. They had peasants pay taxes or tithes to them. The church had you pay for everything to "allow" you to go to heaven. This went from baptisms, to weddings, and even burials. In this picture, you can see a priest selling what is called indulgences. These indulgences would pardon you of your sins if need be just by paying a fee. Indulgences were one of the many things that started and influenced the reformation. Martin Luther thought the church had lost its way, that the church clergy no longer cared about God but more about their own personal gain. He broke off from the Catholic church and created the religion of Lutheranism. There were a number of tools that were invented during the scientific revolution. This includes: the telescope, microscope, barometer, and thermometer. These tools have made and influenced countless discoveries during the revolution and now. All of these inventions had evolved or changed in some way. The telescope has been evolved to be able to be launched into space and is much more powerful. annotation
