year 8 assessment task define obesity: Obesity is a medical condition in which the excess bodey fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health. obesity occurs when a person puts on weight to the extent that it seriously endagers health. what causes obesity? the lack of energy balance is most often what causes obesity. also not being physically active and eating right, eating oversized meals and not eating healthy foods can resolve to obesity. Childhood obesity childhood obesity is a growing problem, in fact 1 in 5 children are overweight and numbers continue to increase. scientists believe that this generation of children will have shoter life-spans then their perents. in fact obesity kills 300 thousand people each year. phycical activity and food intake can lead to obesity. the two most important problems associated with childhood obesity are psycho-socialand medical consequences. 11% of girls are classified as emotional eaters. in the present study physical, sexual and emotional maltreatment during childhood was examed that it could lead to obesity.
