Transcript of DEAR MR KILMER

Though often taken for granted by Pa and Gus, Angie proves to be the 'heart' of the family. Richard is able to find some comfort and safety with Angie in the kitchen whenever he feels left out by Pa and Gus or when he needs someone to listen to him. (pg.16)

Pa loves his children but is unable to express it or talk about buried pain over the loss of his wife and brother. Often lost in his silence and his thought, this causes 'some strange barrier' between him and his children. (pg.64)
