Symbiosis
A relationship between two organisms
Mutualism
Commensalism
Parasitism
Both organisms are helped.
Example: birds on a rhino - the birds
get fed by the insects, the rhino gets insects
removed. Everyone's happy!
Trick: The feeling's mutual!
One is helped, the other
is unaffected.
Example: clown fish and sea
anemone - the clown fish is protected,
the sea anemone isn't bothered.
One is helped, the other is
hurt.
Example- ticks on
a dog. The tick gets
food, but the dog gets
weakened because the
tick draws its blood!
Yuck!
