Our selfhood grows out of, and is shaped by, our relationship with the everything / everyone. We must offer attention to ways that encourage relationships to grow and flourish.
Iatrogenic(esis)-doctor/professional caused illnesses
Paradoxical Counter productivity: institutionalization
Human cultures are the most distinctive creations of human beings drawing as they do not only upon the special contributions of the singularly gifted, but upon the imagination, explicit and implicit of every man woman and child who live within them...
Delicate fragility-culture gives basis and meaning to our lives.
TO BE FULLY RESTORATIVE IS TO BEGIN A MOVEMENT INTO THE REALM OF
TRANSFORMATIVE COMMUNITY JUSTICE
MYRIAD OF CONDITIONS MUST BE EXPLORED
WHAT IS MEANT BY TRANSFORMATION
WHAT IS MEANT BY FORGIVENESS?
TRUE PARADIGM SHIFT-PRODUCES ENTIRELY NEW SYSTEM WITH DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES, INSITUTIONS,PROCESSES AND OUTCOMES
RESPOND WITH A SYSTEM MODEL
FORGIVENESS TRANSCENDS ANGER
“DON’T GET MAD GET EVEN”
“FORGIVENESS IS LETTING GO OF THE POWER THAT THE OFFENDER AND THE OFFENCE HAVE OVER A PERSON , WHILE NOT CONDONING OR EXCUSING THE ACTOR”
Transformative justice uses a systems approach, seeking to see problems, as not only the beginning of the crime but also the causes of crime, and tries to treat an offense as a transformative relational and educational opportunity for victims, offenders and all other members of the affected community. In theory, a transformative justice model can apply even between peoples with no prior contact.
