Simulink provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for
building models as block diagrams, using drag and drop
operations. EQUALIZATION: Equalization is the process to alter the frequency response
of an audio system using linear filters.
An equalizer is the circuit or equipment used to achieve equalization
It is achieved by making use of band pass filters
with suitably designed BandWidths,Center frequencies
and PASS and STOP BAND.
We make use of equiripple fir filters. OBJECTIVES: 1. DESIGN A 3 BAND GRAPHIC EQUALIZER US-
2. INTERFACE WITH EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCE
AND OBSERVE THE OUTPUT IN TIME SCOPE. DESIGN : 1st BAND PASS FILTER: PASS BAND=500 Hz to 1500Hz
2nd BAND PASS FILTER: PASS BAND=4000 Hz to 6000Hz
3rd BAND PASS FILTER:PASS BAND= 7000 Hz to 9000Hz
CENTER FREQUENCY=8KHz Graphics equalizer In the graphic equalizer, the input signal is
sent to a bank of filters. Each filter passes the
portion of the signal present in its own
frequency range or band. The amplitude
passed by each filter is adjusted using a
control to boost or cut frequency
components passed by that filter. We make use of 3 BAND PASS filters APPLICATIONS: Equalizers are used in recording studios, broadcaststudios, and live sound reinforcement to correct theresponse of microphones, loudspeakers Equalizers are also used in music production to adjust the timbre of individual instruments by adjusting their frequency content and to fit individual instruments within the overall frequencyspectrum of the mix Equalization may also be used to eliminate unwanted sounds, make certain instruments orvoices more prominent, enhance particular aspectsof an instrument’s tone.
