Siberian Tiger: Adaptation To Environment
Transcript of Siberian Tiger: Adaptation To Environment
The Siberian Tiger adapts to its environment with thick fur and some layer of fat along the belly and flanks to survive in the harsh cold winters of the Tundra. Their long thick fur also helps them get warm when needed. Their fur is like their gem because without their fur they would die off and later they will become extinct . Their skin is pretty loose on their belly because it reduces the chance of injury when their prey attacks. Sometimes their skin helps them survive more.
The physiological adaption of the Siberian Tiger would have to be its body build. It has a big body with strong muscles to hunt their prey and to adapt to their hunted food. They also, have limbs to leap high and catch their prey. The Siberian tiger also has strong paws and strong teeth to rip their prey apart to eat.
There are 2 major adapattions for the Siberian Tiger. Physiological Adaptions, and Behavioral Adaptions. In the next few slides I will explain how these adaptions fit into the Siberian Tiger's form of survival. I will also explain how the Siberian Tiger uses its fur and camouflage to survive, while in danger, and how it hunts to survive in the environment. Finally would be about their hunting skills to survive in their environment.
The behavioral adaptions for the Siberian Tiger is that they are very territorial for marking their territories of where to stay for survival. These animals use their urine, feces, and some scratch marks left on the trees for their boundary limit. Well, the size of the territory can depend of how much food sources the Siberian Tiger brings in. This will also help them to survive.
The Siberian Tiger camouflages most of the time for survival. They usually camouflage when in trouble. They would either hide in the the nearest bush or tree to hide from bears or even humans. While in camouflage they would wait until there threat or predator is out of sight. There biggest threat is humans. Since the Siberian Tiger lives in land covered in snow, there stripes would be much paler then other tiger species. Another way how they use their camouflage is when there spotting on their victim, and attacking for food.
In this picture it shows how the Siberian Tiger camouflaging from his prey and getting ready to attack.
This rough texture is the Siberian Tiger's fur which helps them to survive.
These are the basic parts of the Siberian Tiger that he uses to survive.
The Siberian Tigers have a great ability of hunting to survive. They would use their fur coats as camouflage. They would also hunt by stealth. They would lie and creep on their victims with a quick pounce. They would have to attack without their victims noticing. A single Siberian Tiger would usually consume 60 pounds of meat, even though they usually would eat less. Their main victims would be a bear, and deer.
In this picture, the Siberian tiger is sneaking up on his victim, and is getting ready to attack.
