My sisters feet.
TUESDAY!

THIS MORNING MY MOTHER, MY SISTER AND I WOKE UP EARLY AND WENT TO A NEAR COFFEE SHOP. WE HAD A DELICIOUS CORNETTO (A CORNETTO IS A CREAM-FILLED BREAKFAST CROISSANT) AND A WARM CUP OF COFFEE BEFORE HEADING OFF TO SCHOOL. MY DAY AT SCHOOL WAS NORMAL, EXCEPT FOR AFTER SCHOOL WHEN I WENT TO FUTEBALL (soccer) PRACTICE AND ONE OF THE GIRLS GOT HURT. SHE HAS A SPRAINED ANKLE AND CANNOT PLAY TOMORROW SO I WILL have TO FILL IN FOR HER AS goalie. i have never really played as the goalie before, so i am EXTREMELY nervous!
MONDAY!

this morning i went to school (which is from Monday TO SATURDAY.) MY LITTLE SISTER HAD TO BE PICKED UP FROM SCHOOL EARLY BECAUSE SHE TOOK HER SHOES OFF IN CLASS (IN ITALY IT IS IMPOLITE TO SHOW YOUR FEET IN PUBLIC) AND REFUSED TO PUT THEM BACK ON. I FOUND IT TRULY AMUSING, UNLIKE MY MOTHER WHO PUT HER IN HER ROOM WITH NOTHING TO DO FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. WHEN I GOT HOME FROM SCHOOL AND ASKED my sister WHAT HAPPENED SHE SCREAMED AT ME AND SLAMMED HER DOOR IN MY FACE. TALK ABOUT IMPOLITE!

ROME
ROME IS THE CAPITAL OF ITALY AND HOME TO MANY OF ITALY'S INTRIGUING ATTRACTIONS. tHIS CITY IS KNOWN AS "THE ETERNAL CITY" BECAUSE OF IT'S NEVER ENDING ( OR ETERNAL ) HISTORY AND EVENTS HIGHLIGHTING ITALY'S PAST. ROME IS a MARVELOUS PLACE TO VISIT AND AN AMAZING TOURIST DESTINATION!
THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA

THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA IS ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS SITES IN ITALY. MANY PEOPLE VISIT ITALY JUST TO SEE THIS ASTONISHING SCENE. THE PHENOMENAL TOWER WASN'T MEANT TO BE SHIFTED TO THE SIDE, BUT THE SILY MISTAKE ( MADE BY THE CREATORS ) TURNED OUT TO BE A RESPECTED SYMBOL OF HOPE, freedom AND pride TO THE ITALIANS! THIS INCREDIBLE TOWER HAS A LONG HISTORY WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED BY YOU!
SKIING
SKIING IS AN EXTREMELY POPULAR SPORT IN ITALY BECAUSE OF THE LOW TEMPERATURES. IN MOST PLACES THE TEMPERATURE STAYS ROUGHLY THE SAME. MAKING IT WARM ENOUGH NOT TO HAVE TO WEAR A HEAVY COAT, BUT STILL COOL ENOUGH TO LET THE MOUNTAINS STAY COATED WITH SNOW. MANY MOUNTAINS HAVE SKI RESORTS THAT USAULY HAVE BASIC LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS AND SKI EQUIPMENT THAT CAN BE PURCHASED OR RENTED. SKIING IS A GREAT ACTIVITY THAT YOUR WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY ON YOUR "IT" VACATION!

Italy is shaped like a boot!
thursday!

today i was picked up from school to go to the physician that my mother picked ( because we have that right in our country. ) i went for my annual checkup to make sure that i was fine and that there was nothing wrong ( italy has an amazing healthcare. ) the doctor said that there was nothing wrong and so my mother and i thanked the doctor and left. we went to get something to eat and then went to go pick my sister up from school.
the doctor's stethoscope.
Friday!

today after school i went to my English class for an hour. we learned how to say phrases like, "how are you today?" and, "could you give me directions?" it took me a while to memorize the words but eventually i got it DOWN. in italian, you would say, "come stai oggi?"
( COM-A-STA-OJ-IE) to ask, "how are you today?" And you would say, "potreste darmi indicazioni?" ( PO-TRISTO-DAR-A-ME-IN-DE-GET-ZY-ONIE ) to ask, "could you give me directions?" i had a lot of fun in English class today and can not wait for next Friday!

(I'INGLESE IS ENGLISH IN ITALIAN!)
SATURDAY!

I WAS IN A GOOD MOOD ALL DAY TODAY BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TOMORROW BEING THAT WE HAVE SCHOOL MONDAY-SATURDAY. THANK GOD IT'S SATURDAY! AFTER SCHOOL MY MOTHER, MY SISTER AND I WENT TO GET GELATO (WHICH IS AN ITALIAN ICE CREAM. THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT GELATO IS SMOOTHER AND THICKER AND ICE CREAM IS MORE CREAMIER) IT WAS SO DELICOUS. I GOT sicilian pistachio (pistachio flavored), my sistEr got stracciatella (chocolate chip) AND MY MOTHER GOT BACIO (HAZELNUT AND CHOCOLATE.) WE ALL ENJOYED OUR TREAT AND HEADED HOME TO GET TO CHURCH IN THE MORNING!
selecting a flavor of gelato...
so many choices!
Sunday!

I STARTED MY DAY OF WITH A OPTIMISTIC MOOD BEING THAT THERE IS NO SCHOOL TODAY. BUT MY MOOD SLOWLY FADED AS I WAS WOKEN UP AT 6:30 IN THE MORNING TO GO TO CHURCH (i go to church BECAUSE I AM CHRISTIAN LIKE THE MAJORITY OF MY COUNTRY.) WE THEN WENT TO GET,"PRANZO" (LUNCH) AND I GOT TO GET A CONOLI (A ROLLED PASTRY FILLED WITH CREAM.) WE THEN HEADED OVER TO MY NONNA'S (GRANDMA'S) HOUSE FOR OUR ANNUAL SUNDAY VISIT. WE STAYED FOR A WHILE AND ATE,"CENA"(DINNER) THAT MY NONNA MADE BEFORE WE LEFT TO GO HOME. THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A LONG AND EXCITING WEEK AND I GUESS I WILL WRITE IN YOU SOON!

(because he was hungry...)

the Etruscans arrived in Italy and took control of Rome.

THE ETRUSCANS MADE ROME WEALTHY. ROME WENT FROM BEING FARMERS AND SHEPARDS TO BEING A RICH TRADE CENTER.

ROME was NOW very WEALTHY; THEY HAD THE POWER TO KICK THE ETRUSCANS OUT.

NOW THAT ROME WAS NOT CONTROLLED BY THE ETRUSCANS, ROME TOOK OVER THE MAJORITY OF THE ITALIAN PENINSULA.
WEDNESDAY!

THIS MORNING I HAD A BIG BREAKFAST AND THEN WENT TO SCHOOL. AFTER SCHOOL I WENT HOME AND GOT READY FOR MY BIG FUTEBALL GAME. I AM SO NERVOUS! WHAT IF I LET THE OTHER TEAM SCORE AND LET MY TEAM DOWN!
*
I DID AMAZING WE WON 6-2! WE MADE TWO GOALS FROM BEHIND THE THREE POINT LINE (WHICH MEANS EACH GOAL IS WORTH THREE POINTS) AND ALTHOUGH I WAS A BIT UPSET THAT I LET THE BALL GET PAST ME (AND LET THEM SCORE) my teammates and coaches encouraged me to keep going, and SO i didn't let another one pass!

This political cartoon is to show Italy's economic debt. the man speaking seems to be talking about the leaning tower of Pisa and how Italy would have already fixed the tower (stand it up straight.) But the title on top might change your mind about the topic. although the picture seems to be talking about the tower it actually has a double meaning. like the title saying,"Italy is going down."it is literally directed to the leaning tower of Pisa falling down, but also means thAT ITALY'S PRIDE AND COUNTRY IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN WITH SO MUCH DEBT. the man saying, "mama Mia! i thought they fixed that problem by now?" is actually talking about italy's debt. as if to say," mama Mia! i thought they payed their debt by now?" Italy is in great debt. approximately e2.1659 trillion (1659 trillion euro; Euro: european dollars/system) in debt. that is a lot of money! Italy is actually known for it's debt. THIS POLITICAL CARTOON HAS A LOT OF DIFFERENT MEANINGS AND REALLY MAKES YOU THINK.

This is a good job and place to live because "Vino" (wine) is very popular in Italy and grapes from vineyards are used to create Italy's divine wine.Italy is known for it's exquisite wine and can be sold at high prices, therefore vineyards get payed a good amount of money.

Italy
overall i would absolutely love to live in Italy. italy has a limited government and great educational opportunities. this country has a limited government that allows it's citizens to have many rights. as a human being i feel that it is important to be able to express myself however i'd like and Italy's government assures my rights to do that. I still have a long life to live and i need to be in an environment that fits my needs. education is a very important part of my life. in order to succeed in the this world you must have a good education. ITaly has a phenomenal education that is proven with a literacy rate of 98.4% my future is practically secured. in the long run Italy is a terrific place to live and i would love to have the cHAnce to explore this amazing country.
