Rocks True Or False
Sedimentary rocks are different kinds of rocks that have been crushed up.
True
The type of rock that has the best fossil record is metamorphic.
False
The type of rock that has the best fossil record is actually sedimentary.
The Law of Superposition says that higher rock layers are younger than younger rock layers.
True
Fossils
1. What kind of fossils are made when minerals are deposited into a mold?
a) mold
b) cast
c) trace
d) imprint
3. What kind of fossil is made when an organism dies and gets covered by sediment, then the organism decays and a cavity remains below ground?
a) mold
c) trace
b) cast
d) imprint
2. What kind of fossil is made when the remains of an organism press into something leaving a hollow shape?
a) mold

b) cast
d) imprint
4. What kind of fossils are impressions that show signs of activity?
a) mold
c) trace
b) cast

What kind of fossils are formed when minerals replace all or part of an organism?
a) mold

Humans
Humans can examine many rock disturbances in the rock layers when uplift occurs and exposes rocks from long ago. Rock layers and fossils can teach humans about what Earth was like in the past, and what organisms were on Earth. Fossils can show humans the physical structure, habitat, and lifestyle of organisms.
Humans have been polluting the Earth for a long time. The effects can be seen in murky water, smog in the air, or trash on the ground. All of this pollution is having a negative effect on animals and the environment. It needs to be stopped.
