Transcript of The Evolution of Glowing Fabric

Some people may be wondering still, “What is Luminous?” Well Luminous is basically emitting light, especially emitting self-generated light. The optical fibers are then connected to ultra-bright LEDs (embedded in borders at the edge of the fabric), which injects light into the fabric. The fiber optics fabric is water resistant and can be washed. It is a non-reflective material as well! History Facts! The optical fibers are specially processed in order to allow the light to be emitted along the full length of the fibers. (side emitting fibers). Also, luminous started out as paintings in the 1968s. Soon technology advanced and started no later then 2010, luminous was put into fabric that would enhance the clothing we wear today. Wow! This innovative concept allows weaving of optical fibers alongside synthetic ones to create a fabric that lights up. The luminous fabric has also been styled into tablecloth, cushion covers, dresses etc. Luminous is a new kind of fabric that glows literally. This type of fabric gives off its own light. Designers took tiny, flexible optic fibers developed for high-energy physics experiments and wove them into ordinary fabric. Amazing! A 150-100 cm table cloth will cost about 360 dollars. Spend your money wisely and show your true self with this new technology! Luminous fabric, as I said, is being used in a lot of operas. The costumes in Aida change to illustrate the characters appearance to glow with passion in one scene. The designer describes the costumes as, ”A work of magic.” Luminous is being used in stage costumes, handbags, and curtains as well as clothing. The makers are even thinking about putting small chips in the products to make them flash different patterns! Cool... No Way!
