She is very bright, honest, passionate and hard-working.
She becomes a governess at Thornfield Hall to Adele and falls in love with her master, Mr Rochester. Major characters Minor characters Mr Rochester is a master of Thornfield Manor.
He is a wealthy, passionate man who has spent much of his adult life in Europe in an attempt to avoid the consequences of his youthful indiscretions.
He is a husband of a lunatic and violent wife, Bertha. Bertha Mason The secret wife of Mr Rochester
