where and when What is the purpose of this quote: "It had been raining for seven years; thousand upon thousands of days compounded and filled from one end of the other with rain, with the drum and gush of water." Bradbury wishes to create mood.
He wants the reader to be able to imagine the consequences of such an event upon the characters in the story.

Identify two of the moods of the story.

Identify the two passages that you believe create the mood addressing the specific details. If the story's setting were more inviting and comfortable, do you think you would find Margot's situation as tragic?
