Find the equation a line that is perpendicular to the line y = 3x - 1 and passes through the point (0, 3).
Gradient is - and if it must pass through the point (0,3) then the equation is y = - x + 3.

A line is perpendicular to the line y + 2x - 4 = 0 and passes through the point (2, 3). Find the equation of the line.

A line is perpendicular to the line connecting the points (3,3) and (5,0) and passes through the point (3,3). Work out the equation of the line.
Examples
A line is perpendicular to the line y +2x - 4 = 0 and passes through the point (2, 3). Find the equation of the line.
y = x + c. When x = 2, y = 3 so 3 = (2) + c, so 3 = 1 + c
so c = 2. This means the equation is y = x + 2.

A line is perpendicular to the line connecting the points (3,3) and (5,0) and passes through the point (3,3). Work out the equation of the line.
Gradient between (3,3) and (5,0) = -
y = x + c. When x = 3, y = 3 so 3 = (3) + c, so 3 = 2 + c so c = 1. This means the equation is y = x + 1
