GOMURC represents a total of 80 institutions that host over 166 marine science, policy and socio-economic programs that work on Gulf ecosystem issues.
Board Members: Includes representative from each member consortia. Board member can designate up to 3 alternates. Ex-officio, non-voting members may be nominated and approved by Board.

Board Chair: Rotates annually. Duties include calling for meetings as needed, at least 2 times a year; presiding over Board meetings; oversee GOMURC staff

Funding for Coordinator, former Director, Andy Shepard, and ancillary expenses provided by grants from the Walton Family Foundation and Harte Support Foundation. Staff currently located at FIO, St. Petersburg, FL.

and used economically in a way that ensures sustainability of its natural capital.
GOMURC Mission
A multi-state university-based research consortia collaborating to promote scientific knowledge, workforce development, and understanding that informs natural resource management decisions at state, regional, national and international levels.
Formed in 2010 via MOU
A unified voice for academia and science-based decisions affecting the Gulf States, Gulf coastal and ocean ecosystems, and its natural resources.

Maintain GulfBase Ocean Asset Inventory
Develop database of Gulf ecosystem restoration programs
Provide overview of OPA response requirements and share with members including identification of responsible authorities by state and hazardous incident type
Promote access to incident Command System, conceptual models, and related response resources, and successful response efforts
